Cape Lambert Rail Expansion Project

Project Overview

Cape Lambert situated in the Pilbara, is one of the main ports RTIO ships iron ore from. In 2012, RTIO began the expansion phase of the port in unison with the upgrade of RTIO's rail infrastructure to automation. The ease of automation allowed a projected 360 million tonnes of iron ore to be shipped from the port.

 

Scope of Work
  • Installation of Drag Equipment Detectors
  • Installation of interfaced cabling for the automation of the car dumpers
  • Installation of LV power supply throughout Cape Lambert for the location cases
  • Civil works involving pit and pipe, trenching and installation of foundation bases
  • New installations and upgrades of rail signalling and crossings
  • Solar installation upgrades
  • Removal of obsolete equipment and wiring, before and after commissioning
  • Assistance with the installation of points machines and with wiring and terminating
  • Installation of the RBS (Radio base Sites) through out the network
  • Commissioning on completed works
