Roy Hill Flash Butt Weld Facility

Project Overview

Roy Hill's new heavy haul main line rail infrastructure is part of the $10 billion dollar iron ore project in the Pilbara region. The network is set to span 344km with a capacity to carry 5 ore trains, each consisting of 3 locomotives hauling 232 ore cars with a total load of 32,062 tonnes. As part of the project, John Holland was awarded the $257 million contract to construct the Flash Butt Weld Facility in Port Hedland.
